The Group, major player in Infrastructure & Real estate industry, is into steel project as logical behavior integration through Jain Steel & Power Limited [JSPL]

JSPL is setting up an integrated steel project comprising of Sponge Iron Plant, Power Co-Generation, Steel Billet & TMT Bars Plant, at Jharsuguda, Orissa.

Jain Natural Resources Australia Pty. Ltd.

Jain Natural Resources Australia Pty. Ltd was formed in order to allow Jain Group to find minerals, ores from resource nodes as a way of backward & forward integration for the group companies.

Australia and China were among the world’s leading mineral producers. Australia has large resources of various minerals. Jain Natural Resources Australia Pty. Ltd was formed for the reasons given as under:

• Development / Acquisition of Coking Coal mine to support the Steel plant under implementation.
• Development / Acquisition of Thermal Coal mine.
• Form a Joint Venture with a Mining Company for taking up Mining Projects in India.

The Group has also formed PT Jain Natural Resources, in Indonesia to exploring opportunities in Coal & Contract Mining.

About the Project

The integrated steel manufacturing complex comprises of following manufacturing facilities:

The project is expected to contribute significantly to the exchequer by way of Taxes & Levies while providing direct employment to over 350 people, baring indirect & ancillary employment.

The objective of the company is to set-up a fully integrated facility for manufacturing of 1.00 MTPA of high quality steel with pelletisation plant and power co-generation plant of about 135 MW by the year 2012.

JSPL proposal for 5 Million tons of integrated steel plant with 450 MW of captive power plant in Purulia district of West Bengal state is under consideration.
